Used the product for many years and loved it, removed black grease without using much. For some reason the product was changed, it's watery now, used to be thick like honey. Dissappointed.

I need to look for a new cleaner after 40 years! It will be hard to replace Murphys.
I’m angry with the change. Likely prompted by greed because it it NOT a better product.
I have been a loyal user of Murphy’s Oil Soap for years because it was a reliable, trusted product that safely cleaned and conditioned my wood surfaces. However, I recently purchased a new bottle and was extremely disappointed to discover that the formula has clearly changed — and not for the better.
The new version is lighter in color, thinner in consistency, and noticeably different in performance. It no longer provides the same rich, nourishing clean that the original vegetable oil soap formula did. The label still claims “original formula,” but the ingredient list tells a different story. Adding plant-based detergents and synthetic ingredients may check marketing boxes, but it has fundamentally altered a product that people trusted for generations.
I feel misled as a customer. There was no clear notification that the formula had changed, and longtime users like myself are left with an inferior product that does not live up to Murphy’s original reputation. Please reconsider this reformulation — or at least be honest with customers about the changes you’ve made.
No, I do not recommend this product.

100% does what it says!!!

I am 100% here to say I have bought top dollar most expensive so called Hardwood Floor cleaner. And I don't have vinyl I have the real RedOak hardwood floor and I absolutely love Murphy Oil Soap compared to anything else I have ever bought. And I'm a mom to 7 kids and have a huge dog. So I clean my floors alot and it don't leave a film or residue and 100% actually cleans like it says it will. I will never buy the most expensive wood cleaner again. This is all I ever buy and will forever. I will always keep several bottles i never want to run out of this.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Trying desperately to find the original oil soap and having zero luck. I came here and it seems like others are equally disappointed in what appears to be a new formula. I use it to remove acrylic paint from stencils, etc. and this new formula doesn’t work AT ALL. Please bring back your original formula or let us have a choice in which formula we purchase,

Why did you change the formula? Murphy’s has been my miracle maker when it came to dried, set in stains in our clothes. It got out everything! Now… it does nothing, but make my clothes smell like the product. I had to wash a load of our best clothes five times to try and get the smell out. Worst of all, it still did not remove the stains. I’m so sad.

What happened to the real stuff? I have used this stuff religiously most of my life for cleaning... Pretty much everything including very high end expensive leather, very delicate and ornate hand crafted furniture, fake leather, tiles, car interiors, stall doors... You name it, even stains on laundry. BUT this new formula is an incredible disappointment and you changed the smell! Now, I'm not saying it smells bad, but it is different and too chemically and strong. Please please please bring back the good stuff. I won't be buying anymore after this until it changes. Very sad. Why mess with a good thing?

Bad deal changing the ingredients

What happened to the original ingredients where it says water, coconut and plant derived cleaning ingredients? Looks to me like you have loaded it up instead with harmful chemicals. I went to replace my large bottle as I am almost out only to find some other label which confused me enough to look into what has changed. I use this product to clean my oil painting brushes and now it looks like other people are also giving this bad reviews for changing the original formula. Now I will not purchase this product again. I will look for an alternative that is natural.

This will sound crazy, my dog was having accidents in the house went into the grout on my tile, I was washing a comforter at the laundromat having a discussion with the lady of course women are better at these things, she told me to put the Murphy's soap in my mouth water and it would get rid of the dog pee smell. It absolutely did 100% it could not believe it
