Complete garbage. I used this product on a very expensive covered patio addition and it’s now covered in black mold.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Thompson's Waterseal Clear Wood Sealer. We are concerned that your experience with our product was disappointing. I would suggest cleaning the surfaces with mold as mold appears to avoid spread. You can use household bleach and water, 3 parts water, 1 part bleach. If you would like to further discuss this review, please contact us directly at 1-800-367-6297 or info@cbgbrandreview.com. Sincerely, R.C., Digital Care Team

Tackiness
I have used Thompson's water seal for 3 car garage about 10 years ago. I decided to reseal. Power washed with TCP and one coat of seal. After 4 days still tacky..I'm not sure to just wait or figure out how to remove stickiness. I washed again with dish soap but did nothing. Temp was in 70sso have waited but no change.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Clear Wood Sealer. If the surface is still tacky it is likely that not all the product was able to penetrate. You can take a solvent based degreaser and scrub down the surface. It will only remove the tacky product, it won't take out what penetrated. If you would like to discuss your review further, please contact us directly at 1-800-367-6297 or info@cbgbrandreview.com. Sincerely, L.T., Digital Care Team

I used this to seal my deck before the winter. I just cleaned the patio and deck and this still looks new. Great product

Water seal has worked well when applied annualy.
I have an outside covered porch that wraps around two sides of my home and is open on the side away from the house. The deck is cedar planking, and I've had for 30 years. It's fairly well protected from sunlight, but rain and occasional snow do get on the deck. I clean and reapply Thompson water seal every one to two years. The wood is still sound, although the parts most exposed to sunlight are showing greying, wear, warping and a little cracking. In the last five to ten years also some small spots of mildew have begun to show up even under the covered areas of the deck. Not bad, I think for 30 years. This was a good choice for my porch.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I applied this in the fall before winter. This has worked great on the deck so far this winter. We had snow, rain and freezing weather.
